TeamWorks 2012, coming soon

May 13, 2012

We are gearing up for Skills this year in Kansas City.

This will be our 12th year doing TeamWorks, we have come a long way since our first year in Barney Allis Plaza when there were 10 teams. We now regularly see 45+ teams made up of secondary and post secondary schools.

The technical committee at TeamWorks would like to welcome Irwin as the newest member of the committee.

Due to the All Star game in KC this year the event dates have been changed.

In the next few days this site will be updated to provide what we hope is helpful to participants: students, sponsors, and volunteers.

Thanks to all of you and see you in KC.

I am ready, are you?

TeamWorks Presentation Guide

June 2, 2011

Each year at the TeamWorks competition in Kansas City teams of four come to compete in what we believe is the best competition ever. Over four days the competitors, a carpenter, mason, plumber and electrician, present their best face, build an 8′ x 8′ vignette requiring all for skills.

While everyone is a winner a score is kept and the teams with the highest scores are awarded medals and prizes. After 10 years of competition one thing shines through, the teams who are best prepared come away with the highest scores. And nowhere is this more evident than in the team presentation on the first day. These teams are prepared.

In an attempt to level the playing field we have produced a video with some tips for success.

With thanks to Joe Keppler and Brad Keppler I present the TeamWorks Presentation Guide.

Brick Laying by Brian Light

June 1, 2011

Good brick layers are hard to come by.
We see that each year at the national TeamWorks competition comes to Kansas City.

Many school programs do not have the resources to support a full masonry program.

To help competitors in their basic brick laying Brian Light came to the TeamWorks event at Hale Arena in 2010 to do a brick laying presentation.
We hope the video will provide some guidance to anyone who needs a lesson in laying brick.

Thanks Brian
